The White Elephant in the Room league
Location: The Game Shoppe 4014 n 144th St Omaha, Ne 68116
Date: November 28th through December 19th
Time: Gaming starts 6:00 pm
Cost: Each player must purchase and turn in one $11 M2E Malifaux plastic miniature (see below for details)
The holidays are almost here! What better way to celebrate than with Malifaux and a gift exchange. Here is how the league works: In order to enter the league, one must purchase a M2E Malifaux plastic model that cost $11, no more, no less. This model must be turned in before you can join. The model must be left with myself (or Lauren/Becky on any day she is there) on Monday nights. Once turned in, players will be randomly paired up each other to play a special holiday themed story encounter. A win will earn a player 3 Steal markers, a lose with 1 Steal marker, and a draw will give both players 1 Steal marker. At the end of the league on Dec 19th after the last encounter, there will be a white elephant themed gift exchange with the models that everyone bought. Starting with the lowest score of the league, players will pick a model they like and keep it or cash in Steal markers to take another player’s model. Should be a great time for all!

Just a little more info for the league coming up. The league will be fixed faction, but each person will get a faction steal marker for it. This will let you steal a gift if it is of the same faction you were playing. The encounters will vary in size and I will reveal the encounters at 6:30pm each Monday. You will get some time to look it over and then I will pair up anyone that is there at the time at 6:45pm. If you miss out on a Monday, you can still play a game on that following Saturday to get in some steal markers and placement on the leader board. Just post up and let everyone know. So get those crews ready, the first encounter is next Monday. It will be giant.

I hope everyone is ready for the start of the league today! I know I said the entry had to be in by Dec 1, but let's be honest, how would I know? Just get your entry in before the start of the encounter next week and you are good. I mainly want the entries in first, because you should always pay before you join something and also to stop any unfair purchase. Don't want anyone to see who is getting in the lead and then buying a mini that person can't use. See everyone tonight!

And the league is off with a great start! We have 10 people signed up. If we could get in 3 more, I can get the larger prize kit for the community. We are so close. But anyways, we had our first encounter last night, and it seemed to go over well. Every Tuesday I will post up the current standings for that day, but not over all total. Want to keep everyone on their toes. The craziness continues next week, but here is the standings for right now.

Noticed one thing, I think Lauren added up her VP wrong. She had 1 VP for each scheme, and had scored 5 VP over the 6 turns for the Giant and then had one for it being her movie pick. So she should have had 8 VP but I think she put down 7.

Been quiet on here all week. Hope everyone is ready for more craziness tonight. Remember today is the last day to join the league. You have to have your entry in before the end of this day if you want to join in the exchange at the end. I also wanted to point out that there might be odd number of people from time to time. If that does happen, the person who misses out will get a bye score. This doesn't count if you miss a day, but if you show up and can't play. Also, the times are not a set deal. If you are running late, you can still get in the game. See everyone tonight.

Time for another update. Great news, looks like Corey and Jose joining the league has just placed the group into medium tier prize kits! The ante has just been upped! So Harley Dan had to miss a day and Josh missed to a bye. The two can play each other some time this week or stick with bye scores. I will leave them up to those two. Here is the score for the day:

Yes, the Blessings will fall on no one this next week. I did want to let you guys/gal know how the prize kit will be handled. As this is meant to be a fun type event with the top 3 not really meaning anything more than last picks, the prize kit items are going to be hidden in the gifts bags. You pick a bag that has one, you get both. But, you will have to try and hold on to it as the extra item goes with the gift, so if it gets stolen, you lose the whole thing. Should make the big box quite a find.

You know, American Dad made me rethink for a moment, technically Krampus is the good guy... in the same manner the Punisher is a good guy. Sometimes evil must be punished. Technically though he is a better person than most Masters in Malifaux.
