Here are the rules for the paint and play league which starts on May 3rd. Any questions, post them here.
The Path of Masters A paint and play league
The goal of this league is to paint up a m2e box set and play games using mainly the models within it. Players gain points for painting models on time and painting extra models as well as points earned in the games. At the end of the league, the player with the most Vps wins a small box set to support the starter box.
Getting Started To enter the league, a player must have a m2e box set in which none of the models have been painted. The models may assembled and be primed and base work can be done, but the model must not be finished. A fee of $5 must also be paid at some point in the league to help with the final prize.
The Rules of Painting Each Saturday, starting with the one after the first, one model from the box set must be painted and based by start time the next Saturday. Example, the league starts May 3rd. By start of the game day on May 10th, one model from the box set must be painted and based. This then follows for the next Saturday as well, until the end.
Playing games In order to also promote new players, each week will have set strategies and deployment. See the list below. All games will be 35ss in size and at lease half the models in the starter box must be used. A player may use other models in their crews, but the model must be fully painted and based. Starter boxes which exceed the 35ss may still be used, but the player may buy no upgrades for the models. Models of course may be left out to give the player more choices and greater soulstone pool. Players may only count 2 games per Saturday for scoring (see below).
Scoring Vps Players may keep the Vp earned in a game to add to their league total. Only two games per Saturday (not always the first two) maybe used for scoring. Players also gain (and lose) Vp for the following: +4 vp for the weekly model ready for gaming +1 vp for painting any extra models early (example, painting 3 models in one week) +2 vp for painting a new model. In order to gain the vp, the model must be bought or brought to the game room the Saturday before. Follows all the same rules for painting. -5 vp for not having your model ready by game day
Encounters schedule First week- Turf war with standard deployment Second week- Reckoning with standard deployment Third week- Reconnoiter with corners deployment Fourth week- Squatter’s Right with flank deployment Fifth week- Stake a Claim with close deployment

Sounds good. I've got one guy planning on picking up a box this weekend. Jack said he was interested in this a while back, too. Hopefully we can get a solid turnout and get some new life in Omaha Malifaux.

Well it was kind of funny when I was chatting with Antonio about this last saturday and I realized how many boxes I had sitting around. I had even forgotten about Tara's box that I have sitting here too. Putting together a couple of them and undercoating them to prep so I can decide which one to go for.

I could just do my Vik box, but I'm thinking about instead picking up the new Marcus box. Then again, I have been wanting the new Pandora and Lilith boxes. I think I want to play something new, though. Sort-of get into that new game spirit.

If you know for sure what you want to play, then post it up. There are a total of 17 box set out right now you can choose from to play. Only 3 of them are at the lair right now, but hopefully Justin will change that soon. Doesn't matter where you get it, as long as it is ready for the 3rd. By the way, I have to work until noon that day (should be the last time that happens) So everyone can open play until them. As for the league, I will be playing The Mother of Monsters box set (Lilith).

I'll miss the first and last Saturday of this paint n play due to work, but should make the middle three Saturdays

That is cool. There is no model due on the first week and you can paint one extra for the last week.

It is going to be the Rail Crew. As Lilith, Pandora, and likely Sonnia are being played I am going to fall back on Mei Feng *Don't feel like putting Tara together yet*.
