July 12th, 19th, and 26th are going to be hobby days! The focus will be terrain. Bring out any supplies you might need and let's make some great terrain fitting of malifaux. There should be no games played, or at the very least, very few. The focus of hobby days are the hobby, not the game.

Well Cort has made a request of us for the 12th's Hobby day to have a dicussion. As I mentioned in my other post him and Jason had been talking about getting a demo table set up and he discussed it a bit today with Mike and me. He was thinking of a board with a hindge to fold out so that it would be easier to store and transport. He also talked about putting a small lock on the board so that if it remains at the lair we don't have to worry about others opening it and and abusing it.
For terrain we dicussed having pegs in the pieces, so that they can be removable but at the same time have a set location for each piece. The thing Cort asked us to discuss was what sort of terrain we thought the theme of the table should be and what sort of pieces we thought would be good on it. The idea is a demo board that looks nice so having terrain that looks nice and fits together would be ideal.

I know there will only be 3 of us there, but don't forget tomorrow is terrain hobby day. We need to spend most of the time on terrain and not games of malifaux. I did get a tarp from HFT to place over the table, so Bob will not say anything. That also got me thinking if there were other things we might need from HFT. Hot glue guns, glue sticks, knives, or even a hot knife. If you guys think of something we need, let me know.

Well I will throw up a quick summary of what we got done this Hobby Day.
-Mike repaired a few pieces of terrain with his hot glue gun that were busted. Only a few as did not know exactly where some of the missing parts. He also worked on his plank idea for his bayou board.
-Cort came in and the three of us had a discussion about the demo board. We reviewed some of the suggestions Antonio had given in the other thread as well as what sort of theme would give it a good spread of terrain types. Right now Cort is courting the idea of a homestead. Mike worked with him a bit about how to set up the hindges so that it will fold up properly while still being able to sit properly on a table for playing. We also discussed the Centerline, some options for buildings and other pieces, and generally placements.
-I continued working on my asian themed path set. I had brought four CDs to work on and I got the tombstones put on them, the pathway on them, and got them based so I could undercoat them when I got home. So with those that is putting me at about 10 CDs worth made so far. So hopefully I will get a few more prepared this week and get some paint down.
