The Great Sewer Brawl Crawl was the Pit Fight event fancied up to be made into an event for the community. It fit well with for a mid campaign event. As part of the Pit Fight event, you would flip another event to take place also. So to keep in the spirit of the campaign, I am counting the event Wandering Mercenaries as the one flipped. Everyone, even those that did not make the event, will get the effects of the event. I will be counting a game played as this week, so all you have to do is play at least one game with your Merc next Monday, have them survive and you get a model added to your arsenal. The extra extra bonus for the week is something everyone can have fun with. Post up a story about your crew encountering a mercenary from another crew and killing them, or other stuff could happen. Post it up before next Monday (July 10th) at 5pm and you will gain an extra 6 scrip. There will still be a bonus posted on Friday as well, so look for that. Finally, the rules of the Wandering Mercenaries, in case you are wondering. Have fun.
Every Encounter this week includes some Wandering Mercenaries. While hiring Crews, each player must hire a Mercenary model which is not a part of their Arsenal with a cost of 7 or less. Players do not need to pay for this model while hiring their Crew and it is not added to their Arsenal; this model is their Wandering Mercenary. If a player kills or sacrifices an opposing Wandering Mercenary, that player gains 6 Scrip. At the end of the week, if a Crew has played at least 2 games, used the same Wandering Mercenary during every game, and their Wandering Mercenary was never killed or sacrificed, then that player immediately adds that Mercenary to their Arsenal without paying for it.

No takers on the other bonus so far? Well, there is still time.
This week starts the half way point of campaign. That means Masters can now be hired from this point on if you complete a bounty. At the moment, we got Lauren, Nephilim Dan, and Josh with bounties completed. That means they can hire a master on Monday if they like to be their new leader. Remember, a master takes the place as the leader, so you will always have to take them if hired.
For the weekend bonus, we are looking at Ancient Monuments as the weekly event. This is going to be another bonus to effect the table type deals, so if one person gets the bonus, both get it. All you got to do is post up a story by Monday at 5pm. The story needs to be about your crew encountering one of the ancient monuments. If you pull this off, one player at random will get to keep the ancient monument to use as terrain and all the effect it has. Good luck and have fun.

“Got to admit, the place is starting to really look the part,” Johan admitted before he took another drink from his glass. With the improvements and now the reputation after the pit fight the place was getting business. Enough it did not look like a hole in the wall saloon anymore. Johan did question if Alyce was running the actually books right but then again if she kept raking in scrip it might all end up okay. Maybe. Hopefully.
“Of course, I knew Bishop would win,” Alyce said all proud of herself. Proud enough to ignore the frown and half glare from Johan. At least enough to only offer a retort. “I keep telling you he is Bishop!”
“And I keep telling you I know Bishop and he is not Bishop,” Johan said shaking his head. “You’ve worked with Bishop before when Leviticus has hired him, you should know this. Bishop is at least twenty pounds bigger, longer hair, and is not from the Three Kingdoms!”
“BAH!” Alyce said waving Johan off. “You are just sore because I can choice a winner.”
“Still say we got kind of lucky,” Johan fired back lightly before letting it slide as he saw her right metal arm twitch. “Still what is next on the agenda?”
“Stage prop,” Alyce said smirking ignoring the concerned look Johan was developing. “Heard about this radical rock from someone I was beating up during the brawl. Apparently it is all glowing and would make a great center piece.”
“Why were you beating up this person?” Johan asked worried about the answer already.
“Cause he was rooting for someone else and was shouting in my ear. On might right side,” Alyce said lifting up her arm with a squeek of rust. “He was offering me all sorts of stuff when he mentioned the rock. Apparently it is all magical and much sought after but is to big for any one person to carry alone. Not to mention dangerous to reach. He called it something like, Momo, Mona... Milly?”
“Is it cursed?” Johan asked as Alyce sought to remember the name.
“Huh... maybe? Bah we just need to bring the fodder to check,” Alyce said brushing it off. “Apparently one of the rocker girls rooting for that fake Bishop at the fight wants to join us after our real Bishop one, figure we can use her as a meat shield and danger tester. Call it a Working Interview. Figure she can carry the rock back.”
“Okay just to be clear, everything wrong with that statement,” Johan replied. “First, I think she is a ronin. Second, that I think was the real Bishop. Third, ours is the Fake Bishop. And fourth, pretty sure she will not be able to carry it back by herself.”
“Bah, we will figure something out,” Alyce said lifting her glass and demanding another drink.

What are "ancient monuments?" I'm not sure how to write the story if I don't know what they are. 2. The mercenaries post... does that mean I must hire a mercenary for this Monday at no cost? If so, does the soulstone cost of this figure factor into crew size for the encounter? 3. Is it the usual for hiring regarding soulstones? 5 SS discount (unless the outpost modifies it)? How does this apply to Masters? I know that masters count as a 15 soulstone cost figure, but I don't know if that only is used to determine crew size in a matchup or if this is used towards hiring as well? If it is used towards hiring do you get the 5 SS discount or is 15 SS already the discounted rate? I ask the Masters question even though I'm not sure if I even want to hire one. My storyline seems to depend upon Nekima as the leader.

Ancient monuments are terrain pieces that grant a bonus to ca action. It can be any thing you want it to be. As for the merc, that is a free hire. If they survive the game on Monday, you get them for free to your arsenal. As for masters, they cost 10 to buy into your arsenal and you can not get a discount on that. Once hired, they do become the leader and take over. Keep that in mind.

McTavish was tired of all the "near misses" as of late, both figuratively and literally. With this new fangled majic glowing rock up for grabs, he decided it was time to stop messing around. Gremlins where fine for most of his grunt work. But for this, he decided it was time for a profesional marksman. A real, well equiped one. McTavish new just the outfit renting them out for cheap too. He gathered up some of the scrip he had been hording, and started out for town. That rock is just the perfect back drop for the band he could imagine. Hopefully his investment in the Corpse would swing it his way.

Alyce scanned the battlefield for her next victim. "Oh yeah...there she is", Alyce thought to herself. She set her gaze on a female who was running in a blood soaked uniform. "I'm going after Florence Nightengale, you protect the stash" Alyce said to Bishop. Bishop thought to himself, "pfft why should she have all the fun." He ignored Rusty's order and set his own gaze and path towards the deadly caretaker. The lonely Freikorpsmann was once again left alone to try to save the stash.

The Judge looked at the dented Peackeeper in awe, never had he seen so many dents and yet it still functioned. He didnt recall seeing any members of the Ten Thunder clans on the fight cards but there was no mistaking the infamous, Wang Swings Lo, a fighter matched only by the legendary Bishop. Come to think of it the Judge guessed their fighting styles mirror themselves in every way. All in all it was a good Pit fight event. It gave the Judge a ruff idea as to who was all going for the the prized hosting of the "Chimpz". Many outlaws and scum wanted by the guild for about every reason imaginable from jaywalking, to resurrection were in attendance. The Judge had his work cut out for him thats for sure.
The one bright spot coming out of the Pit fight was the rumors about some new Ancient Monument that has some mysterious powers. It might just be what the Doctor ordered thought the Judge, as a image of McMourning crossed his mind, which instantly made him snarl. Anyway he looked at it the rumors must be looked into, he just wasnt going to let on to the rest of his crew that along with the rumor about the Ancient Monument that there was also wandering Mecenaries. No doubt looking for the Ancient Monument so they can claim the power held within. The Judge was sure that the Guilds influence would sway any Wandering Merc they come upon to their cause. If not, they would end up on the wrong end of the hangmans rope!

The old trukk the iron zombies drove around came to a slow stop. The side door opened as all the new and old students slowly climbed out. The flesh construct lumbered forward and set the undead rabbit it carried with it on the floor. The lampad hovered away from the others and set about looking for another corpse. The student of Sinew opened the back of the trukk to let the rogue necromancy out. The other students set about their normal business as they did when they stopped.
The Valedictorian stepped away from the others as about to pull out her notebook, when she stopped and looked around at the place they were. It was the dark carnival. She remembered being here once and fight with the mages and ice ladies. She smiled as she remember them fleeing from the area in terror. She started to approached the large tent, she stopped as she someone singing.
A young woman appeared from behind the flaps of the tent, singing a song. She stopped and cursed herself. “Come on, Lindsey, get it together. The Captain didn’t hired you just for your looks, well, maybe. Still, I need to get it together. The other showgirls will never let me live it down if I goof this up.” she said to herself as she looked over some sheet music and continued to walking into the field. She came to a clearing and stopped, closed her eyes and took a deep breathe. She opened her eyes and looked up, to find the undead crew standing before her. She gasped and started to back away as she bumped into something. She spun on her heels to find the Valedictorian standing behind her. Terror took over her whole body as she backed away, eyes wide with fear. She felt something hit her in the back of the neck and just a quickly, a long razor blade was sticking out of her throat, covered in blood. The blade quickly disappeared as she turned around to see the student of Viscera looming behind her with a blooded razor blade coming out of his arm. As blood poured from her throat, the others quickly set upon her.
“Stupid bald know it all! I will show him, I will get even!” Kagura shouted as she stormed out of the tent. “Big dumb idiot. Like my skirt has anything to do with my fighting skills.” she kicked a rock which flew across the field and hit the trukk. She stopped and and grabbed the hilt of her katana as the crew of undead all came to a stop and looked up at her. She suddenly lowered her sword and walked a little closer. “Lindsey?” She looked at the dead showgirl and then back at the undead mob. Her expression slowly shifted from concern to happiness. “Ha ha! That old fart just hired her! All the trouble he went through to get her and you killed her!” she laughed. Kagura quickly scanned the crew and focused on the Valedictorian. Kagura walked over and held out her katana toward the iron zombie. “I would like to offer my services to you and your crew!” The Valedictorian looked confused, as did most of the others as the tall woman seemed to have no fear of them at all. The Valedictorian reached out and touched Kagura’s sword and a smile beamed across the ronin’s face. “Ha ha! Great! Let’s show these Arcanist bastards, I mean, whomever we are fighting how is it done!” She explained with much delight. She patted the Valedictorian on the shoulder.
The Valedictorian turned to the others and shrugged. The rest of the crew nodded.
“By the way, you don’t think my skirt is too short?” Kagura asked.

The scene opens in what might be a nearly complete outpost/saloon space. Most of the crew sets about busily working on the space...or at least looking busy. Nekima is in her usual foul mood.
Nekima takes a drink from her chalice and sets it down...only to watch the gilded vessel slide unceremoniously down the table and clatter to the floor, whats left of its mysterious, blood-red contents oozing out onto the floorboards. "What abomination made these tables?!?? Nary a single table that is level! After the pounding we took last week, it leaves NOTHING to doubt as to our prowess towards finishing touches!!!" Nekima stands and, with a fist of fury, smashes the table to splinters, a task made simpler by yet other deficiencies in its construction.
"M-m-Missstress, please!" cowers a Terror Tot with a tattered golden cloth about its waist. "W-w-we were just thinking about all of the various...sizes of your glorious patrons who might..no..sorry Mistress Nekima... will SURELY enjoy the entertainment this place shall afford once we crush our remaining enemies!"
"Oh?" thundered Nekima. "We won't have much to worry about in that regard if we drop another melee like we did last week against those meddling summoners! We need something to get ourselves back in the GLORY of power only the Neverborn can truly appreciate!"
Just then, the door opens and three figures walk in... each figure different than the others. Leading the way, its red skin nearly matching the hue of Lelu's with red wings, and a vicious looking sword with barbed edges everywhere upon its blade, was Barbaros, behind him walked a figure unknown to all, and behind her, Angel Eyes. It almost looked like the figure in the center was the prisoner of the other two or, at least, being escorted under guard.
The trio steps towards Nekima, Barbaros stopping before Nekima while the other two fan out to Barbaros' left. "Mistress Nekima," growls the gravelly voice of Barbaros, "I bring news that could be of use to you! I have found a slab of dark, green crystal that dwarfs the side of this very building! Locals call it the "Crystal of Naedrymm." I think it would make a very nice wall for behind the stage... or perhaps we can just carve a slab off of it to make a bar top... or whatever you deem is wisest for its use!"
"What is so special about this crystal you state? We could simply build out of stone or wood without much fuss or trouble!" asks Nekima.
"Mistress, I witnessed the crystal myself! Its outer edges are deepest black, like the darkest of onyx. However, the center of the crystal glows a sinister green. Its light roils and spins like a soul trapped upon its insides! It surely would be magnificent!" Angel Eyes responds.
"Very well. We shall go find it." states Nekima then eyes the newcomer. "Is this a prisoner or just another sycophant looking to bolster her reputation?"
The newcomer, dressed in overalls and yellow gloves, smirks. "sycophant? I don't need to know the meaning of that word in order to tell you that I am only loyal to those who interest me the most... of course, could be you...or whomever gives me the most...financial motivation."
Angel Eyes glares at the newcomer and responds "She sells herself for money. She calls herself Johana."
Johana looks disgustedly at Angel Eyes "I am not a lady of the night. Perhaps you should seek out some Belles if you wish that sort of...pleasure. I do, however, sell my services of a more... pugelistic means? I do so enjoy a good hammering." Johana says as she pats the pommel of the large hammer she wields.
Nekima scowls. "We'll see about that. Let's go and see what this crystal can do for us."
Nekima stalks towards the door but stops and whirls, "AND when I return, those tables better be level or I will dine on Terror Tot Casserole tonight!"

The iron zombies and the other undead with them finished packing up the last of the supplies. Kagura walked over to the Valedictorian. “Hey, did you see that old monument? I always heard stories in my travels of them granting spell casters great power.” she told the Valedictorian and she pointed to a large rock formation. “Maybe if we gathered some pieces from it, we could make our own monument and get a little power from it. I know you ressers enjoy that spell casting stuff.” The Valedictorian nodded in response. Kagura gave her a thumbs up, but then stopped. She reached down and grabbed the hilt of her katana. “Might have to do that later, think we got company.” The Valedictorian turned to face the direction Kagura was facing and motioned for the other to get ready.

<<<I Know the topic hasn't been posted yet but I want to add a bit of post-encounter storyline >>>
The scene opens on the front stoop of the outpost. In the background Terror Tots, with the help of several oafish Mature Nephalim, and under the supervision of Barbaros are working on the monument... shaping one part, cutting others, and generally making a noisy mess.
Angel Eyes and Waldo the Waldgeist stand around the side of the building, furthest from the construction and not near any doorway or window. They seem to have cornered Mr. Graves, Lilitu, and Lelu as they've returned to the Outpost. Nekima, Doppleganger, and the Scion are nowhere to be seen.
"Prove your worth, she says! We now have strength near and far, she says! HA!" Angel Eyes rages towards Mr. Graves. "Waldo here has even told me he's proven himself on the battlefield when this outpost was nothing more than four discarded pilings and murk! And both of us get the same treatment!"
"Youuu have nooo idea how many odd looks I've gotten from axe wielding Terror Tots while rooted to thiss sswammp." creeks Waldo, "Itt maaaakes me uneasy. I would make a dreadful bench!"
Mr. Graves holds his hands up, palms open and facing the pair of disgruntled employees, "Easy, now! Both your times will come! I think, in retrospect, we could have used a sniper in that altercation. I'd rather not face the likes of the Hanged any time soon neither."
Lelu snorts, "And they call us nightmares!!!"
Angel Eyes rages on "And that rubber gloved harlot gets the call despite the fact that all she carries is a puny sledge with some hype attached to it? Just who do you think we are?"
Lilitu chimes in "I do not think that our opponents think Johana's hammer to be all that puny... and hype is useful!" Lilitu and the other two seemed to find it wiser NOT to tell Angel Eyes and the Waldgeist that Nekima and the others were, at the moment, welcoming Johana into their crew.
Mr. Graves says "Calm yourselves! Nekima will be back shortly and it would be unwise for us to redirect her ire away from those bungling Tots and onto any of us. She did not fare well against Toshiro."
Angel Eyes chuckles a bit, "Ah, well, perhaps that suits her right! However, your words of warning shall be heeded. I shall bide my time."
Waldgesit groans and creaks. "As you say... this tree won't sway into the wrath of Nekima's storm."
<<<The scene fades out>>>

It is Friday, so you know what that means, it means bonus time! This week's event is going to be Map it out, a rather simple event. To get the bonus, you just need to post up a story by 5pm on Monday about your crew encountering someone that wants them to make the map. If you can pull that off, and you can get at least credit for 4 scheme markers, you get one 3 point fortification on your hideout for free. Even if you can't get the 4 scheme marker bonus, you still get a 1 scrip bonus for the event.
